Luxury vinyl is now considered a trend, and that's because it offers so much value for the decorating dollar. These days, while home improvement shoppers are increasing numbers, they are looking for value more than ever. This affordable product, which offers a sophisticated style and multiple functionalities, addresses every requirement of today's modern customer.
High design, without the high price tag
With images inspired by nature, photographs of wood, stone, and tile are taken digitally, displaying knots, wormholes, grains, swirls, growth rings and veining variations, brilliant colors, and bold patterns. But, of course, all luxury vinyl follows current industry trends, so if you ask if you can get a wood-look gray floor, marble surfaces, or filigree tile patterns, the answer is "yes and more."
Micro beveling and embossing add depth, dimension, and textured features. For even more realism, the material can be cut into planks to mimic hardwood, called luxury vinyl plank or LVP. It can also be cut into squares, called luxury vinyl tile or LVT, where some even use grout, now available in an extensive color palette, to complete the authentic look.
Sometimes even flooring experts can’t tell the difference between that and the real thing. You’ll know, though, especially when you get to the cash register!
Waterproof durability
Made of 100% waterproof materials, it remains undamaged whether submerged or spilled on. It's five times thicker than the original sheet vinyl and is multi-layered, with a top, strong, melamine coating to protect the floor from scratches and scuffs. Authentic luxury vinyl (LVF) should be at least 8-mm thick. Wear layers are measured separately, usually 20-mils.
LVF only requires regular sweeping and periodic mopping with a manufacturer-approved cleaner; avoid wax, shine-promoting products as it can damage the finish and dull the floor. Installation is also easy, especially when it's a floating floor where the pieces click together and mat and then hover over the subfloor without nails or glue.
